Cap & Cole

Cap and Cole, made up of Anna Lee and Shera, is a duo of musicians/producers from Frankfurt am Main. Countless jam sessions together and the belief that ideas know no boundaries are what bound Anna and Shera together and since the beginning of 2020, they’ve been sharing their improvised live streams on Youtube and Twitch. Using electronic instruments, percussion and live vocals, they create warm and mystical sounds with deep, rich beats. Lyric lines arise in the moment, allowing them to let out whatever they need to.

What is your band/artist name? Can you tell us a little bit about the genesis of your project?

It’s Cap and Cole. In spring 2021 we released our trilogy "Honigbrot 1", consisting of the songs "Ego", "Sober" and "Granny". We shot a music video for each of them. Honigbrot 2 and 3 were released in summer and fall 2021, housing two songs each. In "Granny", we deal with our ancestresses; our mothers, grandmothers and sisters have been shaped by stories of escape and uncertainty, and stand faithfully by us today in difficult times. The immense care and joie de vivre of our ancestresses and closest relatives have encouraged and strengthened us in all our pursuits.

How did you get into music and what were/are your influences?

We have both been active as musicians and producers for a while and got to know each other in the Frankfurt music and party scene. Our influences are techno, hip hop and downtempo.

Which partners/artists have inspired you on your way and how?

Dan Bay, Geju, Momo, Nicola Cruz and Oliver Koletzki.

What was your most formative experience in your career so far?

The shoot and release of our music videos - especially the video for the song "Granny".

Can you tell us about the ups and downs of your musical career?

Health problems get in our way most often, causing interruptions in our work every now and then (also because of Corona). Nevertheless, we always find our passion again every time and it always feels like we never stopped. Listening to our songs when they are finished always gives us a boost!

How did you come across MusicHub and why did you choose our platform?

I am a member of GEMA and was made aware of MusicHub in an email. Since we like to work independently and try out new things, MusicHub was the right choice for us.

What goals do you still have to achieve? What are your plans for the future?

We are planning a few concerts in our region (Rhine-Main area) for this summer and are planning to complete our EP "Honigbrot" with further releases this year.
